Improved cosine and cotangent function-based similarity measures for q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets and TOPSIS method

Abstract Despite the importance of cosine and cotangent function- based similarity measures, literature has not provided a satisfactory formulation for case q-rung orthopair fuzzy set (qROFS). This paper criticizes existing attempts in terms respect basic axioms measure strict inclusion relation. In addition, maximum operator-based measures are criticized. Then, new improved, axiomatically supported function-based qROFSs proposed. Additional properties discussed to guarantee their good performance. Two algorithmic procedures TOPSIS method that on fixed relative ideal solutions discussed. The numerical examples support findings
